The only reason that arin doesn't like the legend of zelda is because he sucks at video games and can't admit it. Look at their majoras mask playthrough.

You mentioned that Bottom of the Well and Shadow Temple have a similar theme and wish they had more differentiation, but I’ve always looked at it differently. Similar to how the spirit temple is a 2-parter where you have to do it as both young and adult link; I always viewed the bottom of the well and the shadow temple to be another 2-part approach to a dungeon. Adult Links dungeons 1-3 are more intense versions of Young Links dungeons (forest, fire, water), while dungeons 4 and 5 require both young and adult link to complete. And also you can technically complete 5 before 4 if you really want to, which for me makes these 2 dungeons structurally more similar to each other than adult links first 3 dungeons.

I am one of those Water Temple defenders you talk about lol. I not only would put it in the S-Tier ranking, but I actually think it’s tied with Forest Temple as the best dungeon in the game. I’ve replayed this game countless times and Water Temple is the dungeon I look forward to play the most, it’s the most fun for me on replays.

Super Mario 64 has definitley aged. Mario glitching on ledges, a flawed camera, invisible walls where there shouldn't be... Tiny Huge Island... It's just a question of how poorly it's aged. And while I don't think the game's the masterpiece it once was, it can still be pretty fun.

To me it hasn’t aged well I tried playing it, and just stopped cause I was not having fun controlling Mario

Final Fantasy 7 didn't age well. Sonic Adventure looks great. It felt like a Game Cube game even though it started out on a weaker console.

Grew up with both, both are fun, would rather play a Sonic game any day of the week though.

Arin just wants to mess around without any restrictions or context. And if there is an obstacle, he only wants to intuit on his own how to progress. And most of the time, it really just means he wants his brute forcing to be rewarded.

Great video. I think it doesn't help going back to SM64 without the manual, as a kid I remember reading it cover to cover, learning all the moves before switching on the N64.

I really wish I could love Mario 64 but as the last 3d Mario game I've gotten to play it just doesn't feel good controlling Mario. Maybe I'll have to boot it up and try some speed running strats to see if it feels better for me to control

i hate how it has to even BE a defense. i get having your own opinion but it went from being universally beloved to incredibly controversial… that said, i have stated before that the game is far better when hacked into a new game (the decades later hack is a primary example as it’s essentially a full remake of vanilla mario 64)

Loving the new series. I agree about lethal lava land, it's the one level that seemed like you could easily skip areas as a kid without knowing how to speed run a game. Also cannot wait for another randomizer stream when your able to get back in the flow of content creating. The internet needs more Jish and Bubbert.
